Household waste (MSW)

Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) consists of a complex mix of materials such as packaging, paper and plastics. The changing composition requires flexible and reliable solutions that perform continuously.

Pretreatment of mixed material

Efficient processing begins with pretreatment. Is the waste delivered in bags? Then our bag opener ensures fast and controlled opening, without reducing the material essential for proper separation and further processing.

Horizontal balers for variable material

For the next step in the process, material is baled by type. This facilitates storage and transportation, and reduces overall costs. The goal is always to produce heavy, easily stackable bales.

Our flap balers are specially designed to process household waste into stable bales, despite the variation in composition. Thanks to the unique double flap system and the optional REFU ram, baling remains reliable - even with moist or fine material. The result: firm, lacy bales ready for transport to processors or further processing.

When processing household waste and other difficult-to-handle materials, traditional baling systems can experience blockages.

Especially the needle openings in the RAM. BOA offers a unique solution for this: the REFU ram. This patented system consists of an inner ram driven by a separate cylinder. During pressing, this inner ram completely closes the openings in the press head, preventing blockages. Only when the needles descend to wrap the wire around the bale does the REFU ram temporarily open the openings.

This clever technique significantly increases the reliability and efficiency of the baling process. Especially when processing challenging waste streams, the REFU-ram ensures a more stable process and less downtime. A typical example of BOA's innovative and hands-on approach.

BOA provides complete solutions.
